Wow, what an amazing letter. Was this in a newspaper, Martin? I hope so as it’s one thing to have thoughts like this to oneself, but to have the reactions from the medical staff of a whole hospital is really telling. I really do hope that conservatives see how they are seen by decent, hard working people.
I am so sorry you were all put through such an ordeal, it must’ve been so difficult. I want you to know that I and everyone I know are behind you, doing all we can with the small powers we have. You’re blooming heros, all of you. Thank you.. I hope we manage to get a better government so things can change for the NHS. You have the people behind you, please never forget that. And please, try to rest when you can.
Politicians should be compulsorily treated in NHS hospitals, then you might see some improvement. This twitter feed / letter is an awful indictment of our UK system. Labour overspent until 2008, then the greedy banks took all the spare cash and the Tories entered the age of austerity. The further up the chain(s) of responsibility you go the worse the mess and the more the culpability. Thank heavens I live in Europe, the real Europe. Not perfect but folks aren’t dying on trolleys or waiting 4 years for a cataract op. Boris or Jeremy, what a choice! Leave Europe will only leave to more problems.
It’s the same in care homes. One bedroom is perfect including new bedding,to hopefully please the family of the future resident. The manager gushes showing them round the home, chatting and laughing with the residents, half of which don’t know her as she’s only seen on days like today or when an inspection is going on..
Its makes us the carers so bloody angry
This (probably fake) letter reads like it was written by a slightly deranged member of Momentum. It is, however, a good argument for privatizing the NHS: get the health service provision out of the hands of politicians and bureaucrats. The principle of “free at the point of use” can be achieved easily, so that is not an argument for politicians to be running the provision of health care.
