Simon Jupp’s belated response to the false websites raises more questions than its answers

Posted on

Conservative candidate Simon Jupp (pictured below with Liz Truss) has finally told the BBC that he was “not responsible for the web domains” which took people searching for Richard Foord, our Liberal Democrat MP, to his own website. Jupp’s failure to apologise or even express concern suggests that he was happy with this underhand behaviour – at least until it was found out – and has no intention of finding the culprits – presumably because they are members of his own team. As BBC reporter Miles Davis says on Twitter, it “feels like there is a long way to go to get to the bottom of this story”. Let’s hope that Spotlight, the Midweek Herald and other media keep up the pressure.

    Hi All

Simon Jupp MP should be forced to forward all the emails he has received on these “false” email addresses to Richard Foord MP to action as necessary, and secondly respond to all that have sent emails to these “false”, apologising and stating that he has forwarded them directly to Simon Foord MP.

Surely this action is undemocratic, and should be subject to Police investigation at least. Even if he is not responsible for these email addresses (which he says he is not), then at least he should come clean, and take the actions I detail above. Also, why is Simon Jupp MP listed as an MP on the Colyton Parish Council website, together with Simon Foord MP? Mr Jupp does not currently represent the local area, but Exmouth and beyond, so should not be listed until he is accepted as a Candidate for the forthcoming General Election, whenever that is!! Even I could announce that I am standing as a Candidate for the next Election, but I would not be listed on the Colyton PC website until I am accepted as a Candidate!!

    Howard West A dis-satisfied Elector
