I am delighted that you have your new column and look forward to future issues.
At Living Memories CIC we are certainly hoping that Richard Foord’s campaign to bring beds back to our local hospitals gathers momentum and that we can then set up Reminiscence Hubs.
From the Hubs we would then like to run our Tea & Memories @ Home Reminiscence services for those with disabilities who can’t take part in our Tea and Memories community reminiscence groups. This service will also provide some income for paid part-time Memory Buddies whom we will train to run small reminiscence groups in peoples houses, perhaps with several neighbours joining in to share memories.
I am attaching an article about the Social Impact of Living Memories in care homes, written by Paul Boult. As well as being a key executive in Abbeyfield Society nationally Paul is my fellow (non-executive) Director of Living Memories CIC and now a Director of the Abbeyfield Wessex Society, an independent charity that is now expanding in the care sector in the South West.
Paul and I will be running a Tea & Memories Reminiscence group in Honiton on a date yet to be agreed during July and we are hoping that both you and Richard may be able to attend. Since you played an important role in the birth of Living Memories in Colyton, I would be delighted for you to experience one of our sessions and I am sure that Richard would enjoy it too.
As a member of the LibDem party for quite a few years I am about to write to Richard and invite him to come along and perhaps we can coordinate the date to suit all concerned. What do you think, Martin?
With best wishes Brian

Thanks, Brian. A good idea – let me know when Richard replies.
