Yet again our incompetent Government has failed us. Removing all requirements on face coverings and social distancing, plus abandoning testing, ensures that Covid can spread more easily and overload our health services and disrupt schooling and the economy. The percentage of hospitalisations and deaths may have reduced, but with greater numbers infected that percentage equals higher numbers of people. Pandering to the ideological fools on the right of the Tory party, who don’t want any restrictions to protect people, Johnson has yet again taken the wrong action at the wrong time. It is perfectly possible to get back to near normal safely with the right measures, but he is more concerned with hanging on to his PM’s position.
